Boundary changes to North Glenrothes and Auchmuty & Woodside Community Council areas

Overview

Fife Council is seeking views on a proposed change to the boundary of the North Glenrothes Community Council area. North Glenrothes Community Council has requested that its boundary be extended to include a section of land that currently sits within the inactive Auchmuty and Woodside Community Council area.

The proposed boundary change will have no impact on school catchment areas, ward boundaries, or polling districts.

The Council is leading this consultation to ensure that residents and stakeholders in the affected community council areas have the opportunity to comment on the proposal. Your feedback will help the Council determine whether the proposed change reflects the views and interests of the community.

North Glenrothes Community Council has asked the Council to consider adjusting its boundary to include an area currently within the Auchmuty and Woodside Community Council boundary. The proposed change would move the boundary line so that the highlighted area (shown in purple on the attached map) becomes part of the North Glenrothes Community Council area.

The purpose of this consultation is to gather views on whether:

  • the proposed boundary better reflects the views and interests of the local community;
  • residents in the affected area feel the change would improve representation; and
  • there are any concerns or alternative suggestions that should be considered.

Following the close of consultation, a report will be presented to a meeting of Fife Council for decision.
