Draft Fife Forestry and Woodland Strategy May 25

Closed 7 Jul 2025

Opened 27 May 2025

Overview

We are inviting feedback on a Draft Fife Forestry and Woodland Strategy, which updates the previous version published in 2013

The draft strategy has been developed by the environmental consultancy LUC, in partnership with Fife Council and Fife Coast and Countryside Trust. It reflects comments gathered at a stakeholder event held on in January 2025. We are now seeking wider public and professional input through this consultation.

The draft strategy is presented in two formats: an interactive storymap which provides a summary of the vision, aims, objectives and priorities set out in the draft strategy; and a full report which provides more background to the context and thinking behind the strategy. Please look through the storymap before completing the questions in this form.

Why your views matter

This strategy aims to bring together a broad range of views and opinions on the role and future of trees, forests, and woodlands across Fife. It considers the environmental, economic, social, and industrial factors that all rely on and can support future management, development, and protection of trees and woodlands.

By contributing to this consultation, you will help shape a strategy that supports a more sustainable, diverse, and resilient natural environment. Your feedback is vital to ensure the strategy reflects the priorities, needs, and aspirations of the people and communities of Fife.
