Forth Bridge World Heritage Draft Management Plan
Overview
The Forth Bridge achieved UNESCO World Heritage Site listing in 2015.
UNESCO World Heritage Sites maintain a Management Plan. The Management Plan for the Forth Bridge was produced for the 2015 nomination and it is now being reviewed and refreshed to reflect the progress made and to guide future management of the World Heritage Site.
The purpose of the Management Plan is to support the future management needs of the Forth Bridge, to coordinate the relevant actions of associated organisations, groups and individuals, and to maximise the benefits and minimise any negative impacts from World Heritage Site status.
This questionnaire seeks your feedback on the draft Management Plan 2025-2035.
The update to this plan is being developed through the Forth Bridges Forum and managed by the Forth Bridge World Heritage Management Group. Members of this group include Historic Environment Scotland, Network Rail, Transport Scotland, VisitScotland, Fife Council, City of Edinburgh Council, West Lothian Council, Crown Estate, local Community Councils, History Groups and Heritage Trusts.
The draft Plan has been compiled following a pre-draft engagement questionnaire in June 2025. A summary of the data collected from the initial engagement exercise are included in Appendix F in the draft Plan.

Fife Council is hosting this questionnaire on behalf of the partners in the Forth Bridge World Heritage Management Group. It would be helpful if you could review the draft Plan documents before answering the questionnaire.
This questionnaire is open to anyone until 31st March 2026.
No personal data will be collected during the completion of this questionnaire. Any comments used as examples in the analysis as examples will be anonymous.
