Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation on the proposed improvements to Sauchie Street Play Area. We received a high level of feedback from parents, carers, children and young people.
What you told us
- There was a clear and strong preference for Design Option 2, which was favoured by the majority of respondents across all age groups.
- Respondents supported a play area that offers more play value for a wider range of ages, including toddlers, primaryâaged children and older children.
- Key priorities highlighted included:
- Improved safety, particularly fencing and gated access
- Inclusive and accessible play, including access for wheelchair users and children with additional support needs
- Popular equipment such as swings, climbing equipment, monkey bars, roundabouts and slidesWhat happens next
What happens next
Based on the feedback received, Design Option 2 will be taken forward for the Sauchie Street Play Area improvements. We will try and accommodate as many of the requests raised during the consultation as possbile within the available space and budget.

Sauchie Street Play Park, Kinglassie has been identified for investment and we want you to have your say on the play equipment so we can be sure there's something for everyone to enjoy.
We want to ensure that the play equipment and spaces we are providing meet the needs of the local community. Please have at look at the design options and let us know which one would work best for you and/or the young people in your life.

What happens next
Once the consultation closes, all feedback and suggestions from the community will be carefully reviewed. This includes the ideas submitted through the survey, comments from local residents, and input from community groups. Fife Council will use this information to shape the Final design of the new play park, ensuring it reflects the needs and priorities of the people who will use it most. We'll be sure to share this with you as soon as we can.
